On behalf of CARES Board
of Directors, volunteers and staff, but especially the people we serve, thank you for visiting the
Columbia CARES website. It is with great excitement
that CARES recognizes our 15th Anniversary in 2007.
For fifteen years we have continuously prov ided
quality HIV/AIDS services and in 2007 will be adding
Rapid HIV Testing to enhance our menu of available
services. We are grateful to receive funding from a
variety of supporters including: United Way of Maury
County, City of Columbia, First Presbyterian Church
of Columbia, Ryan White Community AIDS Partnership,
TN Dept. of Health/HUD, Middle TN Regional Advisory
Committee (HIV Prevention), Children Affected by
AIDS Foundation and Broadway CARES Equity Fights
AIDS, as well as generous individuals that
contribute throughout the year.
The fight of
AIDS is not over. The stigma for those
living with AIDS is not gone. The isolation has not
disappeared. But each of us can make a difference.
By joining together, the battle may not be over, but
we can help someone fight; the stigma may not be
gone but we can help educate our community; the
isolation may not have disappeared, but we can stand
hand in hand. I challenge you to do something today.
Contact an AIDS Service Organization of your choice
and make whatever contribution you can-time and
dollars are always needed.
As the 1998 World
AIDS Day theme states: Be a Force for Change!
